Description |
I love to make with Cornish Stoneware clay, dug out from the vicinage, creating large-scale, hand-built and domestic wheel thrown items that are essentially local.
The glaze palettes applied are either blue, black and white, as the mussel shells and scallop shells in the bays to create the “Queen Anne Chic” collection or colour-ways of red, orange and yellow, accenting the pressed “Floral Root” design collection taken out of the lanes on the way up from the shore to the shelter of my countryside home.
For me, after many years working in publishing, in particular on the lovely, World of Interiors Magazine, I now have the opportunity to express through ceramics my designs for use in the interior of our homes and workplaces.
Studio open to the public by appointment. Work is priced from £15 for a caddy spoon up to £280 for celebratory pieces.
Private commissions undertaken and welcomed. An order for a piece of work may be tailored and planned with a specific purpose or intention in mind.
Each piece of work that I produce is a one off.
Please enjoy your atelier art without fear and call me if you need another: - “My substance of common earth was taken and to this figure moulded, to be broke or trampled back to a common form.” The Rubaiyat By Omar Khayyam
